Bachelor in Science in Occupational Therapy Keuka College
Once graduating from Keuka, Melanie first worked throughout the Loretto care system. Here, she gained experience with wheelchair and bed positioning, intensive short term rehabilitation and working with a dynamic rehabilitation and nursing team.
In January of 2001 Melanie started her nearly 18 year adventure in Homecare. In this setting she worked with a very diverse group from 6 months old to 106 years old and equally diverse diagnosis. In home care she learned to be a jack of all trades. Melanie honed her skills doing home safety assessments and developed many relationships with local vendors to have a variety of options for durable medical equipment. Her ultimate goals are always achieving the maximum physical potential, safety and safely remaining in one's home for as long as possible with independence. Melanie also enjoyed working at Crouse Hospital Outpatient treating neurological deficits. Neurology has always been a passion of Melanie’s.
In her spare time Melanie enjoys time at home with her husband, son and mother in law. For fun she loves a good DIY home project, spending time in nature and volunteering with teen youth ministry
