Updated: Nov 20, 2021

If you are newly diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, you may be feeling overwhelmed and not know where to turn. You are not alone. The Jump Start Program can help.

Jump Start is a program funded by the Parkinson’s Foundation and specifically designed for those newly diagnosed with PD (within the last 3 years). Program participants will:

Work with a physical/occupational and speech therapist who specialize in treating PD. The program will pay for the cost of whatever insurance does not cover for 8 therapy sessions.

Receive a personal scorecard of how you are doing on standardized assessments that you can bring to your next physician appointment.

Receive 3 months of daily emails with easily digestible information about PD and support to develop an effective action plan.

Receive two 30-minute coaching calls to answer questions and provide individual support.

Free 1-month membership to Empower Parkinson's, a not-for-profit organization in Syracuse NY that provides evidence-based community exercise programing in a gym setting.

Membership at Empower Parkinson’s provides opportunities to:

Try the different classes offered Moving Big, Rock Steady Boxing, Tai Chi, Yoga, Pedaling for Parkinson's, and Loud for Life.

Connect with the support group resources.

Participate in monthly educational events.

Connect with and develop support network of others with Parkinson's.

Don’t let your diagnosis overwhelm stop you - Jump Start can help you live better!
