What to expect from a Telehealth Visit?

Updated: May 12, 2023

A telehealth appointment is just like a regular appointment with your therapist but from your home. You will sit in front of a camera where you will be able to see yourself and your health care provider on the screen once your session begins. Your health care team will ask you questions and work with you to develop a plan of care, providing the same quality of care you would get in a face-to-face visit. Just like with any face-to-face appointment, you can have a family member, care provider, or friend accompany you if you wish. You can start your visit using: - a computer & webcam, or - a smartphone or tablet (mobile device) You may use either your computer's speakers or a phone for audio. When the meeting starts, you will be prompted for your choice. Either choice will usually give you good quality and can easily be switched from one to the other during the meeting if there are audio issues. On the date and time of your scheduled appointment, simply follow the link in your confirmation email to our virtual clinic on the Healthie platform. You will want to choose a location that has good lighting and is clear of obstacles. Your therapist may ask you to move or perform an exercise during the session. No need to worry about remembering everything discussed during your session. After your session, you will receive an email summary of the game plan created during your meeting. This may include exercises, specific strategies, etc. #brainbodybetter, #parkinsons #parkinsonsdisease, #exercisemedicine, #gethealthie, #telehealth
